Apple Rubber heads to Germany for Compamed 2014

The busy season of trade shows continues. Next week, materials manager John Tranquilli will be heading to Düsseldorf, Germany to attend two of Europe’s biggest medical events: Compamed and Medica 2014.

The international trade show is slated for November 12-15, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds. The three-day event consists of two shows: Compamed 2014 and Medica 2014. Here’s a little bit of the inside scoop:

Compamed

Compamed is the leading international marketplace for the medical supplier industry and product development. Buyers, research and development managers, production managers and engineers can see future trends and review important driving factors for product development.

More than 700 exhibitors from over 30 countries showcase products for medical pre-production, pre-fabricated parts and sub-products for medical equipment – all while searching for new business and comparing notes with international companies.

Medica

As the world’s largest medical trade fair, Medica features new applications, breaking and innovative products, and networking opportunities.  More than 4500 exhibitors from more than 113 countries showcase products and technical innovations that are the first of their kind.

Military medicine, sports physiotherapy and medical communication technology are just some of the focuses of this event. There are also workshops, seminars and education courses throughout the day.

Why it matters

Solutions for medical applications has been a main focus of ours. Advanced medical procedures have placed new requirements on medical equipment and devices — not to mention that medical products are now exposed to a wider range of environments than ever before.

Both of these trade shows will give Apple Rubber a chance to exhibit these devices, but mainly leave with takeaways, too. They will have a chance to work with design engineers looking for particular components, attract purchasing agents looking for new sources, and learn where improvements are needed.

“This show brings a very international group of manufacturers,” said Tranquilli. “We have the ability to connect with our current customers overseas, discuss new applications with experts and interact with a variety of diverse people.”

Aside from exhibiting medical parts, Apple Rubber will be interacting with current customers, sharing ideas and making design plans for the near future.

“This event is a great opportunity because it allows us to meet potential international customers looking for high-quality rubber parts – and we can easily discuss these things right at the show,” Tranquilli noted. “We have met companies from Japan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Australia and everywhere in between.”
