A large demand seen in the manufacturing industry is the focus of suppliers to utilize and prioritize sustainability within their production. Many customers expect to see the application of sustainability platforms or surveys within their suppliers, and for them to report annual metrics and adopt sustainable practices throughout their operations.
Apple Rubber acknowledges the importance of sustainability in every aspect of production and we are committed to minimizing environmental impact without compromising the quality and reliability of our products. We apply this principle within our company in multiple ways. Currently, we use many sustainability platforms such as EcoVadis, Integrity Next, and Supplier Assurance to report and share our progress. Additionally, we have been focusing on continually revising and improving our environmental and sustainability policies and reviewing any and all manufacturing practices that can be optimized with sustainability in mind. Some examples of this can include improving water purification and flow reduction equipment, utilizing internal electricity meters to identify potential improvements, continuing development of rubber injection and cold pot technology to reduce rubber waste, and prioritizing suppliers and products that are committed to sustainability, among other practices.
As we continue to set our focus on many of these projects and reports, we recently added a sustainability page to our website to include all of this information, such as our sustainability commitment statements and areas of importance broken down into detailed goals and practices within our production. The main areas of importance noted on that page include environmental stewardship, social responsibility, ethical governance, and innovation for sustainability. This page also includes our metrics and targets generated from the various sustainability platforms we use, as well as details on our key performance indicators (KPIs) and annual sustainability reports.
Part of our continued commitment is to update and improve our sustainability page and reports every year. We recognize that all changes made for the goal of sustainability are impactful, and we seek to support continued improvement for green technologies and production.
