Press Releases

Apple Rubber Products, a leading designer and manufacturer of seals and sealing devices, offers a range of UL listed sealing compounds suited for natural gas applications, with low extraction characteristics, low compression set, and low temperature capabilities. UL listed products have been tested by Underwriters Laboratories to nationally recognized safety standards and UL157. Apple Rubber has had UL listing since 1986 under the JMLU2, Gaskets and Seals – Components, file number MH14216. These listing provided years of extensive work with many manufacturers that support the Natural Gas industry.

Because the production of natural gas is thriving, as seen in the Marcellus Shale region, billions of dollars have been invested for leases, wells and related infrastructure. This will eventually lead to investments in petrochemical plants across the region to turn the gas into industrial and consumer products, such as plastic. These gases will also be refined to create needed feed stock gases, such as propylene.

Apple Rubber has many rubber compounds designed specifically for natural gas and liquid propylene applications, ranging from NBR, HNBR and Fluorocarbons, with temperatures ranging from -60°C to 105°C, with multiple additional end uses. Apple Rubber has also done extensive work with bonded components to provide a brass-to-rubber bonded product to decrease valve assemblies and increase the reliability of the valve.

Virtually any type of seal is available from Apple Rubber, including O-rings, face seals, housing seals, and custom shapes, and more. The company also offers innovative composite seals including rubber bonded to metal, plastic, or nylon material. Apple Rubber can also create and produce custom tooling for fast response to prototype needs. Furthermore, Apple Rubber sells direct from their USA plant, enabling complete traceability and accountability.

Additional capabilities at Apple Rubber include complete engineering support, manufacturing, quality assurance, ISO 9001 and AS9100. We will work with customer to make sure we have the correct UL listings that our customers require.
