Medical Ethylene Propylene

ASTM D1418 Designation: EPDM

ASTM D2000/SAE J200 Type, Class: AA, BA, CA, DA

Apple Compound Designation: 20EP7AP

Standard Color: Black

Description: A copolymer of ethylene and propylene (EPR), combined with a third comonomer adiene (EPDM), Ethylene Propylene has gained wide seal industry acceptance for its excellent ozone and chemical resistance characteristics.

Key Uses: Environmental seals, O-rings, lip seals, insulin pumps, oxygen valves, low water permeation.

Temperature Range
Standard Compound: -60° to +275°F

Hardness (Shore A): 70

Features: Autoclave, ETO or Gamma sterilization. Good resistance to acids and solvents (i.e. MEK, IPA and Acetone). Compatible with all silicone based lubricating fluids. No phthalates used in formula.

Testing: UPS Class VI, MEM Elution, Aga Diffusion

Limitations: No resistance to hydrocarbon fluids.
